My artistic journey started in high school with my first watercolor being of a waterfall. I then continued on to college at St. Mary’s College of Maryland to get my Bachelor’s in art where I focused primarily on still life; giving objects meaning. After I moved to NYC, where I got a marketing position at B&H Photo, Video, Pro-Audio. This is where I met my husband and partner in art. We both loved traveling for B&H Photo, but being a full time artist was always our passion and primary goal. My husband, Michael Murray, left B&H to start his fine art photography business. I followed a few years later and went to SUNY New Paltz to get my masters in painting and drawing. There I jumped into abstract watercolor drawings. Together we have supported each other through our artmaking process. We have a beautiful family including our daughter Cora and Augustus. Their imagination and humor help me come up with what I now paint.
The watercolors I create are dreamscapes. I incorporate symbolism within each piece through the animals, insects and floral elements. These paintings are perfect for a nursery or anyone who wants to surround themselves with love, warmth and lightness. I hope to bring your family joy just as these painting do for me while making them. Feel free to contact me if you would like to commission to paint your personal story. I have created many commissions using elements that are sentimental to each person’s life or story.
Thank you for supporting my artistic endeavors and my family.
