Brian Buckland makes utilitarian wood-fired ceramics inspired by natural surfaces and environments. He often incorporates local raw materials into his work, such as creating glaze from clay and minerals in the community. This gives both the consumer and himself a sense of satisfaction similar to that of growing and eating ones own food. Brian looks to achieve clean lines and quite surfaces that act as a canvas for the kiln and firing process to expose the final results.
